Diversion system
Instrumentation
In Karun 3 Project different types of instrumentations have been used in different structures. Some of them are installed at the time of construction including thermocouple, thermometer, and inclinometers of dam body as well as extensometer and pressure-meters of power house. Other instrumentations are installed in different stages of progress considering the pre-requisites of water filling. In the course of water filling these instrumentations are read on a daily basis.
The said instrumentations are purchased from Swiss Company of Hagenburger. They all have high quality and at the time being all instrumentations installed in dam body are very well monitoring the behaviors of body, abutments and grouting curtain.

3- External access roads
 
Due to water filling of Kaun 3 dam approximately 7300 m of Ahwaz-Sharekord road submerged. Therefore substitute road of Karun 3 was constructed on a level higher than the maximum level of Dam Lake. This road includes two concrete arc bridges and four tunnels with the following specifications:
