Studies of Yasuj Chain Projects began in 1989 by Ministry of Jihad with cooperation of Chinese Research Institute (ECHIDI). In primary studies, a reservoir dam had been predicated that was cancelled due to complicated situation of geology and technical problems. During next phase of studies several options were taken into consideration and finally the option of nine chain power plants with the capacity of 20 MW was approved by the client and its complementary studies were carried out

Construction activities of six of these power plants which had economic priority began. Krick 1 and Polklu 1 power plants were put into operation in 1994 and 2004. Construction activities of Krick 2 and krick 3 power plants ended in 2006. Polklu 2 and Kakhdan power plants were also tested and put into operation in June 2007.
In 2007 tender documents of Yasuj Development Project including 3 remaining power plants were prepared by Dezab Consulting Engineers.
