Total of electricity generated by power plants such as Karkheh, Masjed Soleiman, Karun 3, Koohrang, Shahid Rajai , Lavarak ,and Karun 4 ,since the start of the current Iranian year up to now,(March to December , 2010) reached to 3 millions, 565 thousands and 353 mega watt hours.
According to a report released by IWPCO’s PR, announcing the news, Seyed Mohammad Reza Rezazadeh, Managing Director of Iran Water and Power Resources Development Co. said: “In the aforementioned period, Iran’s 23 hydroelectric power plants have generated about 8 millions, 16 thousands and 491megawatt hours of electricity.”
2000 MW Masjed Soleiman Power Plant
“Among the country's hydroelectric plants, by producing one million, 229 thousands and 996 MW energy, Masjed Soleiman Power Plant has still obtained the lion share of the electricity production,” he noted.
2000 MW Karun 3 Power Plant
Eng. Reza Rezazadeh stressed that Karun 3 Power Plant has generated one million, 229 thousands and 996 megawatts electricity in the last nine months.
1000 MW Karun 4 Power Plant
He clarified that the first unit of Karun4 Power Plant, with a capacity of 250 megawatts, joined the national electricity network in Saturday, December 11, 2010, and has produced 54 thousand and 834 megawatt hours of electricity during the aforementioned time.
400 MW Karkheh Power Plant
The official clarified that in total Karkheh Hydroelectric Power Plant produced 238 thousands and 373 MW hours of electricity and supplied the nationwide network.
Koohrang, Shahid Rajai, and Lavarak Small Power Plants
Eng. Rezazadeh mentioned that in the mentioned nine months, 35-megawatt Koohrang Power Plant produced 56 thousands and 80MW hours electricity, while the rate of production in 23/5-megawatt Lavarak Power Plant was 50 thousands and 800 MWH.
Meanwhile 13/5 -megawatt Shahid Rajai Power Plant produced 19 thousands and 289 megawatt hours of electricity.
