5 teams of Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization are undertaking exploration, registration and documentation operations of potential antiquities in the reservoir of Seimareh Dam, reported by IWPCO's PR.
Unveiling the news, Eng. Mohammad Rahbari , the executive manager of Seimareh Dam and Power plant noted: "The conservation of cultural heritage is as important as construction of dams in the development of countries , thus the necessary correspondence with Cultural Heritage Organization was undertaken when Seimareh Dam and Power plant project was in the primary stage."
According to him, upon rising of executive operations and gradual approach to the time of dam watering, the experts of Cultural Heritage Research were invited to sign the contract, while the financial and spiritual supports were provided for them.
Currently, 5 teams are carrying out speculation, registration; documentation and rescue of possible cultural works in the dam's reservoir.
Signaling the continuous multilateral assistance of the project's official to the experts of Cultural Heritage Organization, he underlined that the operations have to be carried out more quickly.
"Iran Water and Power Resources Development Company, as well as Seimareh project are prepared to contribute in the conservation of possible cultural heritage in the area, yet the experts of Cultural Heritage Research have to work based on the defined schedule so the saving operation will not interfere the watering operation of the project," he stressed.
Referring to the continuous efforts undertaken by the experts presented at the archeological research and appreciating their endeavor, the executive manager of Seimareh Dam and Power plant mentioned that a greater coordination is required among the executive agencies presented at the site in a bid to reach maximum use of existing capacities.
Seimareh Dam and Hydroelectric power plant is located between Elam and Lorestan provinces, 40 km northwest of Dareh Shahr city. The dam is under construction across Seimareh River.
