In a bid to construct per thousand MW hydropower plant between 1.5 to 2 billion dollars investment is required, while due to the current budget of the state implementation of these project is not possible in the country, reported by the official site of IWPC.
Congratulating Fajr decade's days Eng. Mozaffari, Managing Director of Iran Water and Power Resources Development Company said: The main potential of water power is acquired by Khuzestan Province and there is a capacity of setting up more than 12 thousand MW hydropower plant on Karun River merely."
"If a plant with aforementioned capacity is carried out over 20 thousand watt hours of energy will be obtained from Karun River," He added.
Managing Director of the company reiterated that so far 7800 MW hydropower plant is undertaken in the country, while 5400 MW of this rate is related to the performance of Iran Water and Power Resources Development Company.
Announcing that currently the company has undertaken6500 MW hydropower plant, Eng. Mozaffari noted:" IWPC has 7 thousand MW pump storage power plant, as well as 10 thousand MW flow power plant understudy."
Putting the total potential of setting up known power plants in the country at 30 thousand MW, he declared:" Certainly the potential in the country is more than this rate and we hope that all of them will be operational."
Managing Director of the company also referred to the necessity of private sector's participation in the investment, as well as construction of power plants in Iran.
"In a bid to construct per thousand MW hydropower plant between 1.5 to 2 billion dollars investment is required, while due to the current budget of the state implementation of these project is not possible in the country," He clarified.
At the end of his comments, Eng. Mozaffari appreciated people's participation in purchasing the cooperative bonds of Iran Water and Power Resources Development Company and expressed hope that the projects will be finalized as soon as possible.
