Mass production of micro turbine for power plants of the country was launched.
Announcing the above in an interview with our reporter, Managing Director of Iran Water and Power Resources Management Company (IWPRMC) Seyyed Mohammad-Reza Rezazadeh pointed to installing and operating three samples of micro turbine required for power plants in the country.
In general, mass production of power plants' micro turbine launched in the country, he maintained.
The country was after developing and equipping micro power plants in the country in previous years but now, construction of this turbine is conducted by expert domestic engineers, he opined.
For this purpose, the company conducted several research projects in a way that three models were designed and constructed at the first step, he said, adding: "Installing, commissioning and testing three prototypes was conducted at the second stage and finally, a number of 20 micro turbines, required for power plants, were introduced to beneficiaries in order to commercialize it."
It should be noted that three micro turbines of power plants were unveiled in previous year, he said, adding: "Once of these micro turbines, with 32-KW capacity, has been installed at downstream part of "Qaleh Chaey" in Azarbaijan Province. The other manufactured micro turbine also has been installed in "MANJ" Power Plant located at downstream part of Karun -4 Dam."
The third manufactured micro turbine has been installed in a fish farming project in Ardal, Chahar Mahalo Bakhtiari Province, he maintained.
Opportunities should be seized, he said, adding: "For example, en route water transfer lines to cities, electricity can be generated from a micro power plant instead of pressure-breaker valve. Also, electricity can be generated in fish farming ponds alongside waterfalls in faraway regions that connecting to nationwide power grid may be a difficult task."
At the next stage, suppliers of these products should be encouraged to manufacture these products massively, he said, reiterated: "After installing these three micro turbines, 20 turbines will be manufactured from each prototype."
With the coordination made in this regard, the management of the company tries to introduce these micro turbines to suppliers, he opined.
In the end of his remarks, Managing Director of Iran Water and Power Resources Management Company (IWPRMC) Seyyed Mohammad-Reza Rezazadeh said: "Manufactured micro turbines will hit the consumer markets in the very near future, so that applicant can use one of these micro turbines according to the condition of desired site."
