The first international and third national conference on Dams and Hydropower will be held on February 8-9, 2012 in Tehran’s IRIB Int’l Conference Center, according to the PR office of the conference announcing the news.
The conference themes include: civil work, electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, material and construction methods, earthquakes and geotechnical aspects, environmental aspects and HSSE, river engineering and hydraulic structures, micro, small, mini, large runoff-river pump-storage hydropower plants, sustainable development and IWRM, rehabilitation , upgrading and maintenance, power transmission networks, project management risk and safety, legal ,social and economical issues, decision support systems, financing ,delivery methods and PPP, monitoring and instrumentation and other related fields as stated by M.R. Rezazadeh ,IWPCO’s CEO and chairman of the conference.   
 “According to the conference dates, full papers should be submitted by October 31, 2011. Authors will be notified of a decision no later than December 1, 2011. Workshops will be held on February 6-7, while technical meetings are on February, 8-9. The conference also offers some technical visits that take place on February, 10-11. “Rezazadeh added.
The conference is expected to feature 30 workshops including 15 in English. The dynamic design of the conference website registered at

president of International Hydropower Association (IHA), Dr. Martin Wieland chairman of ICOLD committee on seismic aspects of dam design as well as chairman of earthquake committee of Swiss dam society and senior dam and earthquake expert, Dr. Pierre Tournier , Canadian representative and a member of committee on "Materials for the Fill Dams" for international commission on large dams and an expert consultant at Hydro-Quebec, Professor Daniel Peter Loucks a distinguished professor of engineering management and environmental and water resources systems engineering at Cornel University, USA, Professor Ferenc Szidarovszky a key professor of systems and industrial engineering at university of Arizona, Professor Soroosh Sorooshian, a leading professor and director of Center for Hydrometeorology and Remote Sensing at University of California, Professor Eelco Vanbeek, professor of Integrated Water Resources Management at University of Twente as well as faculty member of Engineering Technology Department of Water Engineering & Management in the Netherlands and a specialist at Deltares / WL | Delft Hydraulics in the Netherlands, Professor Anton Schleiss , full professor of hydraulic and hydro-mechanical analysis of hydraulic structures and chairman of Swiss Committee on Dams (SwissCOLD) as well as member of Swiss Committee on Flood Protection (KOHS), department of civil engineering at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), Professor Saeid L. Sadri , professor of building construction at school of civil engineering in Georgia Technology of Institute, Tetsuya Sumi, professor of water resources research center and member of disaster prevention research institute at Kyoto University in Japan as well as chairman of scientific committee of international symposium at ICOLD congress in Kyoto 2012.
